ABOUT KATHLEEN

I’m inspired by the words and feelings that linger at the end of the day, the expressiveness of the human figure, the playful energy of cartoons, and the bold impact of graffiti. My work doesn’t sit neatly in one category, but I’m especially drawn to the spirit of Modernism and Expressionism.

Most of my ideas grow out of everyday moments. I move freely between digital and analog painting, letting each process inform the other. A digital piece might include fragments of acrylic paint, while a painting might take on elements that began on a screen. I layer in handwritten letters, photographs, scraps of wallpaper, drawings—whatever feels right in the moment. All of it comes together to build something that feels alive and connected to contemporary life.

To me, life itself is layered—full of mystery, contradiction, and a swirl of images and emotions. Making art is my way of shaping that swirl into something cohesive. I hope my work invites people to slow down, look again, and discover new details each time they return to it.
